One Last Treat Before Back To School

Back to school season is almost upon us and here is your chance to give them one last day out before for it is a pencil to paper. Here at O’Neill Arms Country House Hotel, we have put together a little list of events to get the children involved in before heading back to school.

The Galgorm Castle Fairy Trail

With just a sprinkle of fairy dust and a little imagination, watch as The Galgorm Castle Fairy Trail comes to life before your eyes. Everyone say it together… ‘I do believe in fairies! I do! I do!’
Discover an enchanting route through Galgorm Castle’s woods where every detail has been lovingly handcrafted to complement the local flora and fauna. Amongst the trees spy a fairy village complete with miniature wonders, including an outdoor library. You’ll even be able to pay a visit to the tooth fairy! Little believers can knock on her door, drop off their teeth and await a special surprise in the morning.

World of Owls

Spend half a day with the family at World of Owls – a lovely owl sanctuary at Randalstown Forest. Explore indoor and outdoor birds of prey displays, nature walks and see lots and LOTS of owls.
Your kids will be fully entertained coming up-close with all the different types of owls –  World of Owls owns one of the largest collections in the UK. You’ll also come across other birds of prey, including eagles, hawks, falcons and vultures. There are some farm regulars like geese, ducks, chickens and turkeys to be spotted too. Up for a walk? You can even catch a glimpse of deer and rabbits in the forest.

The People’s Park

The Peoples Park is a great venue for free family fun, whatever the season, with a number of events to participate in and enjoy throughout the year.
There is a well-equipped play area for the kids, plus a number of picnic areas, a bowling green, and tennis courts. There is also a Pavilion at the centre of the park, which overlooks a large lake that is full of a wide variety of geese and ducks to feed.
The Teddy Toddle Walk is a clearly marked walking route that gives young kids the ideal safe location for a walk in the park and is available all year. A great place for walks for all ages, and you can even bring the family pooch.

There we have it.. lots for you and the family to get stuck into while enjoying your Mid Ulster stay at The O’ Neill Arms Country House Hotel and with rooms starting from just £69 per night, what’s not to like.
